These terms govern your use of RelayTutors, a network where independent tutors refer students to each other. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. Who can use RelayTutors
You must be at least 18 and work as a tutor or teacher. Families and students may not create accounts.
2. What we do and don't do
RelayTutors lets tutors post listings about students they want to refer, reply to listings, and message each other. We are not a party to any agreement between tutors or between a tutor and a family. We don't employ tutors, run lessons, vet credentials, or handle lesson payments or referral fees.
3. Listings and consent
- Only post students you are genuinely referring, with the family's permission to share their contact.
- Don't include last names, school names, addresses, or contact details in public listing fields.
- Don't post students you met through a platform whose terms prohibit off-platform referrals (for example Wyzant, Varsity Tutors or Preply).
- No self-promotion, job postings, spam, or fake listings.
4. Referral fees
Fees are agreements between tutors, settled directly. If you accept a student under a listing with a fee, you agree to pay it as stated once regular lessons start; a trial lesson alone doesn't make the fee due. If the handoff doesn't work out, either tutor may close it without a fee. Until the fee is marked as sent, you can't reply to new listings; repeated non-payment or falsely closing a handoff may lead to suspension.
5. Pro subscription
Pro renews monthly until canceled. You can cancel any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period. Pro is sold through Freemius, our reseller (merchant of record), which processes the payment and sends your receipts.
6. Conduct and enforcement
Be honest and respectful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or put families or tutors at risk.
7. Disclaimers
RelayTutors is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that any listing leads to a student or that any tutor is suitable. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
